Kazakhstan Attachment 24 July - 4 August

From Monday 24 July to Friday 4th August, a group of 15 students from Kazakhstan visited MSM for their European attachment.
These students take part in the joint MBA program, set up in cooperation with the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Almaty. Tthey took courses in Research Methodology, by Dr. Phillips, and Competing in the Global Arena,  by Dr. Sybrandy.
It was for the eighth consecutive year that Almaty students visited Maastricht.

 

Executive Programs

Refresher Course Jordan 14 - 26 May 2006

From 14 till 26  May a refresher course was held for 20 MSM alumni in the capital of Jordan, Amman. Participants  had been at MSM in the past years for  MBA or SME, courses. The Palestine Netherlands Friendship Association (PNFA) under the chairmanship of  Mr. Sameir, Jamel Sabeh initiated this course.

June 30: Closing of three Executive Programs

On Friday June 30, 35 professionals received their certificate for their participation in one of the three Executive Programs "Organizational Culture and Management", "Change Management" and "Business Dynamics" that ran from June 12 till June 30. Meinhard Gans, MSc (Director of the International Projects Department), Mieke van Riet, MA  (program manager OCM and CM) and Joris Stadhouders, MSc (program manager BD) look back at three successful programs. Both program managers feel that the groups of participants were extremely dedicated to their studies and highly professional in every sense of the word.
MSM hopes to keep in touch with the participants of these three programs through the alumni network and through the personal contacts established throughout the course

Visit from Bethlehem University 19 June - 7 July

From June 19 - July 7, 19 Faculty Members of the Bethlehem University / Institute for Community Partnership visited  MSM. Bethlehem University is the oldest and smallest of the five universities in the West Bank Palestinian territory, with around 2500 undergraduates. One of the highlights of their stay was the visit of Dries van Agt, formal prime minister of the Netherlands and currently Board member of Bethlehem University.

Student Attrition And Retention In Distance Learning In The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
(The Case Of The Arab Open University)


On 30 June 2006  Manal Ibrahim successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and qualified for the award of the MSM DBA degree. Manal was supervised by Prof.Dr. Kami  Rwegasira (chair, department of accounting finance and economics  at MSM) and  Dr. Ahmed Taher from American university in Cairo.
